Karilyn Odom

Karilyn joined LHP in September 2021 and has been working as a Systems Engineer. She is a Functional Safety Certified Automotive Engineer (FSCAE). During her time working at LHP, she has authored requirements for several subsystems of an ICE vehicle, developed test cases for requirements-based testing, developed test scripts to automate test cases using a Hardware-in-the-Loop (HiL) testing platform for an entire Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) vehicle using an NI based HiL, and has been exposed to system level testing with a dSPACE based HiL. She is also a key team member for LHP’s Research and Development team, creating an EV testing platform which included disassembly of an entire ICE vehicle, refreshing suspension components and brakes, fabrication of custom steel structures using metal inert gas (MIG) welding and plasma cutting, mounting EV components, wiring all EV systems including low voltage and high voltage, setting up the communication networks (CAN), programming the Vehicle Control Unit (VCU), fabricating a custom high voltage battery pack, programming the vehicle display, and integrating EV systems (On-board charger, DC/DC converter, VCU, Power Inverter, Electric Propulsion Motor, Cooling Systems, Battery Management System, Battery Distribution Unit, and Vehicle Display).
